Then we spent the week painting the lake dock plus the walkway and the deck on the house.  It was long hot days but, hey at least we were at the lake.  Billy headed back to Lumberton on Sunday but Ann had some family stuff to do so she went to Raleigh for a couple of days. While there she took Walker to the Marbles Museum (which he loves) and he had his first encounter with a police officer. He was in the front yard watching the geese and waved at the police car going by.  The very nice police lady stopped to give him a sticker.  He gave her a big hug and then sat in her car and got to press the siren button.</font></p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8-zQlFFlK9s/W58NObV-NiI/AAAAAAABgMA/NE7vdh4ipYQA0EACvaDHwNb1HCvhj-CjgCHMYCw/s1600-h/9.15%255B7%255D"><img title="9.15" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="9.15" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--Niv8UKE1Bw/W58NRLDWuNI/AAAAAAABgME/6IGd03HffpImEBunGPUJ-p4aBViqtz2dQCHMYCw/9.15_thumb%255B3%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a></p> <p><font size="3">We did have volunteers the first couple of days this week but with Florence coming in they opted to leave on Tuesday.  Thanks to the Region 8 Feeding Team, Biltmore and Mike and Cindy Benedict for doing some rebuild work, helping to get our site ready for the Hurricane Florence, and feeding everyone.  We moved equipment around, parked all our vehicles on the dock and moved our campers to more protected locations. Then it was waiting time. Debbie & Paul provided us a great hurricane watch dinner. </font></p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DRcHhM7jEzM/W58NTvhJUCI/AAAAAAABgMI/ARJCBFlPjO4hq3NSOMpWIsXpBDvxGw0aACHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2B9.16%255B3%255D"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures 9.16" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures 9.16" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-MuTzUDNRz2Y/W58Nb4ejLrI/AAAAAAABgMQ/QamHewT_p_ss-DV29bRpJWCDe9wzXjn-gCHMYCw/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2B9.16_thumb%255B1%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a></p> <p><font size="3">Florence made her appearance on Friday with loads of rain and wind. The water was starting to rise a little by the dock and out to the fence toward the airport but we were still able to stay in the campers.  On Saturday we got out for a drive around town and things didn’t look too bad. After supper we went out on the dock and noticed the water had risen to about 18 inches in front of our camper so David had to move so we could move back to higher ground. Of course all this took place in the pouring rain.  </font></p> <p><font size="3">We have canceled the teams coming in on Monday because we are expecting the Lumber River to crest and we don’t know if we will even be able to get to the homes we are rebuilding.  A feeding unit is waiting at Hyde Park and we may be getting a recovery team here at our site.  Things are not looking good for South and West Lumberton at this time.  Officials are predicting worst flooding than after Hurricane Matthew.  Please keep us, Lumberton and the many other affected locations in your prayers.</font></p>Ann and Billyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16148901692516837598noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185168398551849630.post-37737314612715259692018-09-01T20:05:00.001-04:002018-09-01T20:05:34.327-04:00Hurricane Matthew Rebuild Lumberton August 26-29, 2018<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-l-Ns4cpl5DY/W4spHNhaqRI/AAAAAAABgDE/_kxdevmqmYE1zmjm8LCwRxiLyzFs8g5CwCHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission-Trip-Adventures-9.1.2018-p14"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures 9.1.2018 p1" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures 9.1.2018 p1" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xi9qOUCiQVc/W4spK43Nr2I/AAAAAAABgDI/yaKLOIOBHeY25pUnlP37jEQxZzmWZivKgCHMYCw/Mission-Trip-Adventures-9.1.2018-p1_?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a><font size="3">1-Sous chef Debbie and Chef Paul; 2-Julio and his son Dustin, Holly Springs; 3&4-A bunch of guys from Regions 5 & 6; 5-Does anyone recognize this guy with a broom? The flooring done and 95% painted.  It needs a little bit of plumbing and they will be ready to move in.  The Mt Saini Church fellowship hall is close to complete and then they will begin using it for services.  The Biltmore team spent most of the week at the Campbell home. They hoped to complete it but did not.  The ladies spent the week caulking and painting the trim work and doors put up last week. Finished rough in plumbing and electric on 2 homes and sheet rock is now being hung. </font></p> <p><font size="3">We got requests to start a few more homes this week so let us know when your team wants to come to Lumberton to share the Gospel and help families return home.</font></p> <p><font size="3"></font></p>Ann and Billyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16148901692516837598noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185168398551849630.post-7830973033694695782018-07-21T20:11:00.001-04:002018-07-21T20:13:27.021-04:00Hurricane Matthew Lumberton Rebuild July 15-21, 2018<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Fy_67EIEW_I/W1PLP0AfhZI/AAAAAAABfiE/PCdMCn4zb_Q0wD8umXGGM0tsHs2fDpm7wCHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission-Trip-Adventures-7.21.2018-14"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures 7.21.2018 ]1" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures 7.21.2018 ]1" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pG7udR0axEM/W1PLU34c1hI/AAAAAAABfiI/yDnU3yH-Y_ktuOaIqluQLLuQCoR5M1yGgCHMYCw/Mission-Trip-Adventures-7.21.2018-1_?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a><font size="3">1-Worship speaker for the week, <font size="3">Jonathan Yarboro, <font size="3">The Collegiate Partnership Team Leader, Baptist State Convention of NC; 2-Cutting grass at the FBC Lumberton Senior Home;  3-Carolina Mission Team - Wendell Baptist and Mauldin, SC Baptist; 4-Mauldin Baptist feeding with Paul and Debbie;  5–Christ Community Church, Southern Pines;  6-Bethlehem Baptist Church, Knightdale.</font></font></font></p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jDr2dAt2evk/W1PLYlOPwvI/AAAAAAABfiM/goiht23LVYA9rcYIc6No3K-H0mop7FgggCHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission-Trip-Adventures-7.21.2018-p2"><font size="3"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures 7.21.2018 p2.211" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures 7.21.2018 p2.211" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Sm467cCZ-fw/W1PLexhvcdI/AAAAAAABfiQ/lW2Xirn6iL8gKZieQxaWM44D8p4E65c3ACHMYCw/Mission-Trip-Adventures-7.21.2018-p2%255B1%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></font></a><font size="3">With a site full of youth the teams were divided up and set out on many different tasks. The Greystone group worked at the Campbell home trimming out windows, painting and started the flooring.  JE was a big help this week running supplies.   Thank You to all who helped Billy celebrate his birthday.<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eH3yG13Mc98/WwtVObNM-QI/AAAAAAABe9E/cAGUROKOJj4z2V79bLuBJu6zehCWClgIQCHMYCw/s1600-h/Photos%255B3%255D"><img title="Photos" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Photos" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OgDN39Tq5tQ/WwtVQe1ZShI/AAAAAAABe9I/R5XRQUkD-XQRXD3KIH4BwUalP58TRRDAgCHMYCw/Photos_thumb%255B1%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a>We enjoyed spending the Memorial Day weekend with family at Lake Gaston.</font></font></p> <p><font size="3"></font></p>Ann and Billyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16148901692516837598noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185168398551849630.post-75474071203222153172018-05-20T17:53:00.001-04:002018-06-24T10:55:59.761-04:00Hurricane Matthew Lumberton Rebuild–May 13-19, 2018<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-F3P6zdMZS5M/WwHuSwnAvRI/AAAAAAABejw/p3SxGGgytcseHk3JnYvxMpyEIMGm0LeAQCHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2B5.19%255B4%255D"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures 5.19" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures 5.19" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JqgoGdB018E/WwHuVxTY3KI/AAAAAAABej0/DwrkKXYfBWME1PFWcH1Sz2pmmwEdtnmkwCHMYCw/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2B5.19_thumb%255B1%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a><font size="3">1-FBC Salisbury; 2-Fishing Creek Baptist, North Wilkesboro; 3-Region 2 Feeding; 4-Abbotts Creek MBC; 5-Baptist Center Church, Clayton; 6-Summit, Apex; 7-Christ Community Church, Pinehurst; Not pictured-David Earley; Orange Co Democrats; Trinity Baptist Church, Monroe.</font></p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-53ywKVVN3P0/WwHuYjCXLSI/AAAAAAABej4/VAlpDZqobsoCYg1_YJnMy5W1ishhDZJRgCHMYCw/s1600-h/5.19%255B3%255D"><img title="5.19" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="5.19" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KgRuaZGwby4/WwHua7pw6nI/AAAAAAABej8/5tjsoX2pNlMeEgsVKy8_a2g_OOB1rnhswCHMYCw/5.19_thumb%255B1%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a><font size="3">The number of volunteers as well as the length of stay has been low lately. However, they have come with a heart ready to serve. This week teams got a house primed and painted which next week a team will start the window trim and flooring.  Another home was prepped and most of the primer done so the group starting there Monday can paint, trim windows and start flooring. The Jones house now has flooring laid, doors installed along with most of the molding installed. Now waiting on a paint crew. Electrical has been completed at the V. Powell home. The S. King home needs about a days work and then final inspection and she can return home. Got some odd and ins to finish at the C. Several teams with hearts ready to serve GOD whereever he calls. Teams started another home by doing rough in plumbing and electric, then another team moved right in installing insulation and subfloor.  Several volunteers painted , hung sheet rock, installed plumbing and electrical fixtures, laid shingles and installed floor covering. No volunteers next week but by mid May we should complete four more homes.  Volunteers seem to be on a roll now getting work done at a steady pace and still finding time to share the gospel.  Had two salvations this past week.</font></font></p>Ann and Billyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16148901692516837598noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185168398551849630.post-21118528892213026702018-04-22T12:17:00.001-04:002018-04-22T12:17:27.888-04:00Hurricane Matthew Lumberton Rebuild April 15-21, 2018<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jDvihrGW36k/Wty1T4gObuI/AAAAAAABd4o/Jsu8euGxS6wNaazo7Qg54FJMFpW8dNM4wCHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission-Trip-Adventures-4.214"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures 4.21" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures 4.21" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Oj18GV09ugQ/Wty1ZKMQmjI/AAAAAAABd4s/wy5VftnYtsUvyd_Qd6mUxlHYAcfK22p7wCHMYCw/Mission-Trip-Adventures-4.21_thumb1?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a><font size="3">1-Ken & Morris, Biltmore; 2-Region 8 Feeding Team #1; 3-Trinity UMC, Charlotte; 4-FBC Garner; 5-Memorial & Piney Grove Baptist, Williamston; 6-Abbotts Creek MBC, High Point.</font></p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eF2FWrCt3To/Wty1budSAgI/AAAAAAABd4w/dmj7jimdMqcsTAfG27bsTTyRsdtnbaGSgCHMYCw/s1600-h/Collages4"><img title="Collages" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Collages" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-vIJiWNv2aE8/Wty1di5IBXI/AAAAAAABd40/voCjbGQmw5cI7kN1UrUNSszyUupdvnegwCHMYCw/Collages_thumb1?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a>  <font size="3">7-Union Grove Baptist, Marshville; 8-Christ Community Church, Pinehurst; 9-Flat Rock Baptist Church, Louisburg; 10-Region 8 Feeding Team #2; 11-Highland Baptist, Raleigh; Not Pictured-Greystone Baptist Church, Raleigh.</font></p> <p><font size="3"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E6vYVFZCpT8/Wty1h8FaD-I/AAAAAAABd44/2uW-AvkWWEMgcJsRdVDfz__7HnNy9Wj4ACHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2B4.21-001%255B3%255D"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures 4.21-001" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures 4.21-001" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eolsUCAO8gg/Wty1ldsCWZI/AAAAAAABd5A/B4LDj8C85JcOSgdD6OfGqpiO2ygjw2MwgCHMYCw/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2B4.21-001_thumb%255B1%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a>Another great week of team work. We finished the Freeman home and almost finished the C. King home on Spruce.  We are waiting on Lowe’s for the 6th week to get us a set of shower walls.  Maybe next week. Subfloor and walls were installed in 3 homes. Insulation and sheetrock installed in 2 homes, trim work in several homes as well as lots of electrical and plumbing.  Waiting on more HVAC duct to be finished. Best way to put it is “lots got done this week and home owners are happy.” </font></font></p> <p><font size="3">Put together a skilled team and give us a call on when y’all want to come to Lumberton to help share the gospel and rebuild homes.</font></p>Ann and Billyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16148901692516837598noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185168398551849630.post-15320776941349451312018-03-18T08:51:00.001-04:002018-03-18T08:51:21.299-04:00Hurricane Matthew Lumberton Rebuild March 11-17, 2018<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-w2alrjPBJXc/Wq5gnYT7wTI/AAAAAAABdMo/f3gtJ_FhGfElzP9yIUUAQ5_9Qu1OILqTwCHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission-Trip-Adventures-3.174"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures 3.17" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures 3.17" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8HvSHbsZSBk/Wq5gpi6-vKI/AAAAAAABdMs/CBtL5nZI8FUIW6is0MiIVbJzCtn90YhzQCHMYCw/Mission-Trip-Adventures-3.17_thumb1?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a><font size="3">1-The Summit Church & International Students, Inc. One team stayed all week and several others came for a few days or just one day. Painting was completed until kitchen cabinets are installed at the J McMillian home. The Thomas home is now complete thanks to the international group who spent many hours painting, cleaning, hooking up plumbing and the final trim work. The Freeman home will get HVAC next week along with some final TLC and it will be complete. In the C King home the flooring is almost finished, kitchen cabinets and vanities are in waiting on tops, most doors and trim work complete as well as electrical.  The S. King home got flooring and trim work started as well as bath hooked up after some minor changes.  Also the homes on Hay Street moved a lot closer to being ready to start towards finishing.  Part of a team painted the dock entrance to the rebuild facility.</font></font></font></p> <p><font size="3">Still lots of work to be done in Lumberton. Our needs at this time are for small volunteer teams with building skills. We have several homes that teams have replaced the roof and now the inside repairs need to be done while the home owners are still living there. We also have homes that need plumbing rough in and hook up done.</font></p> <p><font size="3">Give us a call to schedule your trip.</font></p> <p><font size="3"></font></p>Ann and Billyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16148901692516837598noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9185168398551849630.post-32165319510457328862018-03-10T12:46:00.001-05:002018-03-10T13:01:24.429-05:00Hurricane Matthew Rebuild Lumberton–March 4-10, 2018<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jw8plPB6TAc/WqQZtppHBnI/AAAAAAABdBA/u4bQYWmAppQqvmCSUdIdkDjLoicNTH36QCHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2Bp1%255B5%255D"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures p1" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures p1" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mzsg_-80_U4/WqQZwHaSAPI/AAAAAAABdBE/6d5AgPpJ170jRkNIBZVTBknC9fZ1-BrGwCHMYCw/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2Bp1_thumb%255B2%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a><font size="3">Volunteers: 1-The Smith Family, Charlotte and Cathy, Wisconsin; 2-Steve & JE, Williamston; 3-Calvary Baptist, Reidsville; 4-Greystone Baptist, Raleigh; 5-Region 2 Feeding Team with Paul; 6-South Point, Belmont.</font></p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XcnojkourpE/WqQZypN8gSI/AAAAAAABdBI/vlBzoIv4p7wXnoaCJxqEJrcIY7_a77kOACHMYCw/s1600-h/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2Bp2%255B3%255D"><img title="Mission Trip Adventures p2" style="display: inline; background-image: none;" border="0" alt="Mission Trip Adventures p2" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OwxDZxi2oC8/WqQZ1lkCXAI/AAAAAAABdBM/WRG_PEMTYAIShpGNYupK-ZFp7Ab3VyCFQCHMYCw/Mission%2BTrip%2BAdventures%2Bp2_thumb%255B1%255D?imgmax=800" width="589" height="589" /></a><font size="3">Teams spent a lot of time this week on their knees laying flooring and installing subfloor.  Some did hang doors and trim out windows.
