Airy; No Picture: Ephesus Baptist, Ralegh; Bethel Baptist, Ronda; Joyce & Curtis Thrift; Mt. Zion, Cherryville. Several churches have chosen to adopt a home/family and they continue to come work on these homes. While we have been staying at Hyde Park God has shown us some outstanding sun rise and sun sets. Had a group of young volunteers this week who rolled up their sleeves and cleaned up several yards where the tear out teams had piled flood debris and the clam bucket trucks had gotten most but left some. Another youth group actually helped serve a meal. Teams have been repairing floor joist, installing insulation and sub floor as well as redoing electric and plumbing. The renovation of our new housing location is coming right along. Water and sewer lines have been installed for our long term staff as well as those who wish to bring their camper to stay in. Gerald has began installing the sprinkler system which will mean no fire watch duty (most understand this). This week others continued on upgrading the wiring, framing for the ceiling in the tool room, gathering room and dining area, as well as building shelves for the storage area. Need lots more help so we can move soon. Electric, sheet rock hangers and finishers. tile layers as well as folks to rework the heat/ac duct work. Also need someone who can install chain link fence. Would like to be moved in by end of March. Hope this fits into the LORDS plan as well as your volunteer plans.
Work on the residents homes have also been moving along great. As in the past I have pushed for additional help and continue to do so here. This is not due to the lack of volunteers because many have already responded. The request for more help is due to there is so many homes in this area which the owners cannot move back into until repairs have been made. E-mail or give us a call about coming to serve.
