The Shiloh group slit up installing tarps, mudding sheet rock and installing floor decking. Carl’s group sprayed homes for mold. Cool Springs laid flooring and installed cabinets. Lots of folks doing lots of different types of jobs.

Raleigh. With a large group of eager to learn college students this week we decided to get some insulation and sheet rock hanging done at the new rebuild housing site. We also got a drive put around the back of the building thanks to a man who loves God. Some of the other students hung sheet rock in to homes, built a ramp (yes it’s dark and they wanted it finished before they went home that night), installed insulation and sub floor as well as some more tear outs. These groups are keeping us on the move and Rebuilding Robeson County.
Big need at this time for sheet rock finishers, electricians, flooring installers. There will also be big need for trimmers, cabinet installers and painters once sheet rock is finished. After this coming week our volunteer numbers drop way off which means work slows way down unless you and others step up and answer the call to go and serve

The job site picture takers were very busy this week running for materials, getting teams started in correct direction, answering questions and work on our new housing location so we didn’t have any pictures to turn in. The teams have done tear outs, hung sheet rock, finished and painted sheet rock, replaced a roof, repaired floors , installed floor covering and the list goes on. Sounds like a lot was done this week and past 2 months in Lumberton, BUT it’s only the start of a long project. In big need of skilled teams and skilled team leaders.

Hurricane Matthew Lumberton Rebuild Feb 26-March 4, 2017
1-Bagley Swamp Wesleyan, Hertford; 2-Westwood Baptist, Cary; 3-Ebenezer Baptist, Durham; 4-Pleasant Garden, Greensboro. 5-Region 9 Feeding & Rebuild, Swanonna Baptist; 6-Holly Grove Baptist Church, Spring Hope; 7-Grace Christian School, Cary; 8-Green Mountain Baptist Association, Barre, VT; 9-Cornerstone Baptist, Mt. Airy; No Picture: Ephesus Baptist, Ralegh; Bethel Baptist, Ronda; Joyce & Curtis Thrift; Mt. Zion, Cherryville. Several churches have chosen to adopt a home/family and they continue to come work on these homes. While we have been staying at Hyde Park God has shown us some outstanding sun rise and sun sets. Had a group of young volunteers this week who rolled up their sleeves and cleaned up several yards where the tear out teams had piled flood debris and the clam bucket trucks had gotten most but left some. Another youth group actually helped serve a meal. Teams have been repairing floor joist, installing insulation and sub floor as well as redoing electric and plumbing. The renovation of our new housing location is coming right along. Water and sewer lines have been installed for our long term staff as well as those who wish to bring their camper to stay in. Gerald has began installing the sprinkler system which will mean no fire watch duty (most understand this). This week others continued on upgrading the wiring, framing for the ceiling in the tool room, gathering room and dining area, as well as building shelves for the storage area. Need lots more help so we can move soon. Electric, sheet rock hangers and finishers. tile layers as well as folks to rework the heat/ac duct work. Also need someone who can install chain link fence. Would like to be moved in by end of March. Hope this fits into the LORDS plan as well as your volunteer plans.
Work on the residents homes have also been moving along great. As in the past I have pushed for additional help and continue to do so here. This is not due to the lack of volunteers because many have already responded. The request for more help is due to there is so many homes in this area which the owners cannot move back into until repairs have been made. E-mail or give us a call about coming to serve.
